Terms and conditions

Tinhela610 is an off-the-grid wilderness retreat sanctuary.

By signing this document or by purchasing your stay at TINHELA610 you are agreeing to all Terms and Conditions stated below. The Terms and Conditions laid down below apply to any person or guest that has a commercial relation with TINHELA610.

OFF-THE-GRID: We are totally independent. We make our own energy through our 65 solar panels and heat our water by photovoltaic panels on our roof. We have our own water source for all usages. We also have two pure, natural water sources that pass through our land along with the Tinhela river. We heat our buildings with a biomass unit via wood pellets. This acts as a central heating system. We have no black waters or sewage as we have compost toilets (two gas burning toilets and two dry compost toilets). Thus, what you put down any drain must be biodegradable! Poo is burnt in the gas toilets and composted in the dry toilets. Pee is broken down naturally in our plant-based treatment system.

WILDERNESS RETREAT SANCTUARY: We are in a natural rocky terrain at 700m. Many natural species of plants, rocks and minerals, insects, birds and animals all live in a biodiverse system that was somewhat shaken in 2022 by wildfires that spread across our region. Today, the earth is renewed and life returns, even stronger. The air here is extremely pure—as proof, only the lichen grows on the green oak trees when this is true. The river and source waters are clean. There are trout and other fish in these water sources.

Wildlife seen at Tinhela610: many varieties of nesting birds, herons, otters, foxes, wildcats, wolves… not seen yet but they are around: owls, deer, eagles and wild boars!

We ask you to respect this natural biodiversity. Notice everything around you and breathe in the pure air.

As a guest at Tinhela610 we kindly ask you to respect our conditions below:

  1. You must be of sound mind and body. The terrain of Tinhela610 is rocky and with different grades of slope, thus tricky to walk. Our land stretches over 1 hectare so sometimes you may need to walk 10 minutes to go to the movement platform or over to the glamping tent in FairyLand. If you have any difficulties to walk then you must not come.

  2. Bring ECOLOGICAL toothpaste! We provide the proper soap and shampoo that do not hurt our delicate bio-plant water treatment system. It is imperative that you bring your own ecological toothpaste and try to use only ecological skin care products. We sell a natural skin care line on-site if needed.

  3. Talk quietly. Observe silence when asked. Notice the sounds of nature.

  4. Do not make ANY fires. Only the staff of T610 will make fires in the firepit, BBQ and sauna.

  5. When walking on the property and lands around ours, please do not pick flowers or plants. Leave the stones. Be quiet and observe the wildlife.

  6. What you bring in you bring out. Do not leave things here. Do not litter. Put your waste in the proper bins.

  7. Upon arrival, your beds are made and your linen (bath/hand towels, bathrobe and swimming/sauna towel) provided. We ask that you take care of these items and that when you leave, please put all dirty linens into the provided laundry bag.

  8. You have full access to the Tinhela610 facilities (Mill Be, Movement Platform, Meditation Alcove, Fairyland, Field of Dreams, the three hammocks and the land around us). You will have access to the dining room only during meal times. There is no access to the kitchen. The permaculture gardens are accessed only with a staff member.

  9. Smoking is permitted in one designated place that will be shown to you. Please only smoke there and place cigarette butts in the container.

  10. Cell Phones/Computers: Most telephone services have a connection here. Please use your telephone quietly in your room. Do not walk outside talking on the phone. Try to use it less! It is possible to work on your computer in your room with your own hotspot connection. If you are here on a group retreat, it is best to limit any phone and computer usage.

  11. Try to live without your phone and social media. You do not need to take pictures of everything. Try instead to live it and seal your memories through sight, sound, smell, touch and taste.

  12. Respect the privacy of others.

  13. You are responsible for any damages you make on the property. Tinhela610 has the right to ask you to leave if you behave improperly, disturb others, or cause damage. If asked to leave, you will not receive any compensation.

  14. If you have any questions please see your Retreat Leader or a T610 employee.
