About the retreat
Timelessness — Embedded in Nature
An intimate moment of nature and silence, slow living and deep rest
At Tinhela610, in the wild heart of northern Portugal, silence is not an absence — it is a living presence. Here, nature does the quiet work for you. The land invites you to slow your pace, soften your breath, and come back into rhythm with yourself. Set between forest and river, our small, secluded sanctuary welcomes just two to eight guests at a time, creating the spaciousness, privacy, and attentive calm that true rest requires. Nothing here asks you to improve or transform. It simply offers the conditions to remember what is already whole.
This retreat is an intentional pause from the accelerated world. A chance to step out of constant stimulation and return to the slower intelligence of nature. Days unfold through simple, grounding rituals: wood-fired Finnish sauna, river immersions, breath and gentle movement, guided meditation, and long walks beneath chestnut and pine. Phones can rest with us, if you choose. Birds replace notifications. The river becomes your clock. In this unhurried stillness, the nervous system unwinds, and a deeper listening begins.
Nourishment at Tinhela610 is both elemental and refined. Half-pension meals (brunch and dinner) are prepared with care, drawing from our permaculture garden and from nearby farmers who work in close relationship with the land. Fermented foods, anti-inflammatory ingredients, wild greens, fresh eggs, and slow-grown vegetables form the foundation of our gut-supportive cuisine. Local olive oil, honey, and wines from Trás-os-Montes arrive at the table like quiet offerings. Food here is not performance — it is sustenance, presence, and gentle medicine.
More than a wellness retreat, Tinhela610 is a return. A return to the body’s natural cadence, to the grounding intelligence of the earth, to the simple dignity of being alive. Whether you name it a sanctuary, a place of integration, or a pause between chapters, this land offers something increasingly rare: permission to rest deeply, without explanation, and the space to listen for what truly matters.
